A 9-Session Kids Ministry Curriculum for Ages 6–10
What does love look like at school? Can joy grow during a difficult day? How can we become people others can trust?
The Fruit of the Spirit is more than a list of qualities students should try harder to practice. It is a picture of what can grow when God’s Spirit is working in and among us.
In this nine-session curriculum, students ages 6–10 explore love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control through engaging Bible stories, games, wondering questions, creative responses, service projects, and prayer.
Each session helps students connect Scripture with their everyday relationships and communities. They will consider how the Spirit’s fruit can bring encouragement, care, healing, and hope to their families, churches, schools, neighborhoods, and world.
Rather than presenting the Fruit of the Spirit as nine moral obligations, these lessons remind students that fruit cannot be forced or manufactured. We can listen to God, practice the way of Jesus, and encourage one another—but God’s Spirit is the one who gives the growth.
The Nine Sessions
Love: The Good Samaritan — Luke 10:25–37
Love notices, crosses boundaries, and cares.
Joy: Paul and Silas in Prison — Acts 16:22–34
Joy can grow even during difficult circumstances.
Peace: Jesus Calms the Storm — Mark 4:35–41
God is with us during life’s storms.
Patience: Simeon and Anna Wait for Jesus — Luke 2:22–38
God is with us while we wait with hope.
Kindness: Rebekah Offers Water — Genesis 24:10–21
Kindness begins with noticing and responding to a need.
Goodness: Tabitha Helps Her Community — Acts 9:36–42
Goodness becomes visible when we generously share what we have.
Faithfulness: Daniel and the Lions’ Den — Daniel 6:1–23
God is faithful and helps us become people others can trust.
Gentleness: Jesus Welcomes the Children — Mark 10:13–16
Gentleness means using our words, actions, and strength with care.
Self-Control: David Chooses Not to Hurt Saul — 1 Samuel 24:1–22
God’s Spirit helps us pause and choose how to respond.
